Hawarden Estate

The Hawarden Estate sits within the rolling hills and sprawling farmland of Flintshire, North Wales.

With Chester just a few miles away across the English border, the Estate is home to Hawarden Old Castle, a 13th Century fortification constructed to defend the North Wales coast to the West. The estate includes thousands of acres of active farmland and forestry, with orchards, dairy herds, crops, seasonal vegetables, pumpkins and community allotments. The estate also plays host to the Good Life Experience annual festival and hosts an exciting programme of events throughout the year.

Our Woodland Classroom basecamp is nestled under the trees of a tucked away corner of 25 acres that make up the grounds of the Hawarden Estate Farm Shop.

Hawarden Estate Farm Shop is an award-winning purveyor of local produce with much of their meat, fruit and veg being reared and grown on the estate. This is not only for sale in the excellent Farm Shop but also served up in their tasty cafe.

“Provenance is key to us because we not only believe in food that tastes great but that is also local, sustainable and is good for our community, the environment and our customer’s health.”

We’re excited to be working in partnership with the Hawarden Estate to offer this fantastic and varied outdoor space to groups for our workshops and events. Our popular Woodland Birthday Parties are a particular favourite here too.

Hawarden Estate Farm Shop is easily accessible from the A55 North Wales Expressway. Chester City Centre is only 15 minutes drive away. Central Wrexham is just 20 mins drive away. The venue postcode is CH5 3FB.
