Corporate away days

Picture the scene; your team away from their office environment, surrounded by the forest, the smell of woodsmoke in the air, crackling campfire slowly cooking your lunch, the sounds of nature rather than ringtones and email pings.

Making time together to learn new skills, to relax and unwind and most importantly, having fun! Your staff will be refreshed, rejuvenated and inspired, going back to work with renewed enthusiasm.

“There is no wi-fi in the woods, but we promise you will find a better connection.”

Our Corporate Away Day experiences are for:

  • Businesses who want to increase wellbeing in their workforce
  • Team Managers who want reduced stress for their staff whilst increasing productivity
  • Companies who value corporate social responsibility
  • Organisations that want to celebrate the achievements of their team and show them they are valued

Enjoy healthy, campfire cooked food together. Refreshments and meals can be included, our food is cooked over campfires and special dietary requirements can be catered for. We only use fresh, organic ingredients which feed the body and mind whilst not costing the Earth.

Your Tutor, James Kendall

James is our Head Bushcraft Instructor, certified through the Institute for Outdoor Learning. He is also a qualified Forest School Leader, Social Forester and experienced Woodland Manager.

“My approach to teaching bushcraft has always been with an emphasis on steering my students toward fostering a deeper connection with nature through understanding the landscape around us. Bushcraft skills are an effective way to do this as we learn about using natural materials and how we can live with the land, whilst also connecting with our own ancient past by seeing the land through the eyes of our ancestors.”

Your Tutor, Lea Kendall

Lea, a qualified Counsellor and Mindfulness in the Woods Practitioner, teaches on a range of themes around Nature Connection both as part of her own programme of courses, for group bookings and seeing private clients one-to-one.

“I am a firm believer in the power of nature to be therapeutic for everyone. My training as a Counsellor worked toward my long-term goal to incorporate nature therapy into my services. I am passionate about finding ways to increase the self-esteem of people and encouraging motivation through positive experience, shared enthusiasm and a nurturing environment.”

Find Your Wild

with a range of activities that suit all abilities:

Discover the ancient art of Fire by Friction, you and your colleagues will gain a huge sense of achievement as you learn to create fire using this age old skill which will bring out your inner cave person.

Cook up a feast over the fire using traditional dutch ovens and cast iron pans. Source and pick wild greens from the hedgerow to add to your meal. Food brings people together like nothing else. Your whole team will enjoy a mouth-watering lunch as part of your experience.

Be guided on a woodland walk to discover that plants which many people think of as weeds are actually beneficial for your health. Learn about nature’s remedies and try some of our famous herbal teas which can energise and restore us when our energy is low.

Escape the stresses of modern life by building your own home away from home in the woods. We will guide you through traditional bushcraft skills to craft a weather proof shelter from natural materials.

Practising Mindfulness outdoors, with nature as the stimulus, is a practical and accessible solution to bringing calm and focus into everyday life. Many people who have attended our workshops have told us how easy they found it to practise Mindfulness in a natural setting when previously they had struggled with conventional meditation techniques. Colleagues will learn practical methods for reducing their stress, lowering anxiety and increasing their productivity.

A cooperative and fulfilling day of getting stuck into practical conservation tasks which help local wildlife and improve habitats. Tree planting, hedgelaying, scrub clearance and dry stone walling are just some of the activities we can offer. Your staff will support the work of the National Trust or North Wales Wildlife Trust.

Your team will be immersed in the beautiful and diverse wooded landscapes of our fantastic outdoor venues. Choose from the National Trust’s Chirk Castle estate in Wrexham or the Hawarden Estate in Flintshire.
