Festival Workshops

Our Woodland Classroom workshops and demonstrations have been a hit with audiences of all ages at festivals and events up and down the country.

We can bring the wild woods to your event with a range of activities including; bushcraft, campfire cooking, foraging, mindfulness in nature and forest school, to name a few. When it comes to events we’ve done big and small; from workshopping at the epic Glastonbury Festival down to kids activities at the local village fete.

Our workshops can be adapted for kids or adults with age-appropriate activities. We have our own stand-alone event setup with gazebo and display awnings along with an experienced and passionate team to run our workshops which can be scaled up and down to suit the size of your event and budget.

Where & When

Here’s just some of the events and festivals where we’ve hosted our popular workshops:

“Absolutely brilliant! You’re definately a festvial favourite now. See you next year.”

Our Festival & Event Workshops

Bushcraft Skills

Our bushcraft basecamp offers your event goers interactive workshops in ancient & modern fire-lighting techniques, using sharp tools safely, making wild medicines, shelter building, cordage making and greenwood crafts.

Campfire Cooking & Foraging

Popular with Food Festivals, we offer a mouth-watering display of wild seasonal foods, including examples of foraged and preserved ingredients. Our crackling campfire is the hub of our cooking demonstrations and interactive workshops where event goers can get stuck into making tasty treats such as freshly baked breads, scrummy puddings, healthy salads and hearty stews. Many foods are cooked up in our traditional dutch ovens.

We can also cook up a range of lip-smackin’ campfire treats for children, which are a healthier alternative to marshmallows including; toffee apples slices, hazel leaf chocolate cakes and smokey popcorn.

Mindfulness in Nature

Give your event goers a bit of ‘me time’ with a Guided Walk focused on how they can improve their health & wellbeing through a deeper connection with nature.

As part of your event programme our experienced team can offer sessions on the following themes; Mindfulness in the Woods, Forest Bathing (Shinrin Yoku) or Foraging for Wild Foods & Medicine.

Wildcraft Adventure

A huge hit with kids! Inspired by games like Minecraft & Fortnite. In Wildcraft Adventure kids get immersed in an experience that has many themes they’ll recognise from the video-gaming world but at the same time gives them a whole new challenge as they learn basic bushcraft and survival skills, use teamwork, problem-solving and their imaginations to beat the trials they’ll face along the way. Perfect for kids aged 6-12 years.

Wildcraft works great as a 1 or 2 hour session to keep kids entertained whilst their parents enjoy some free time around the festival for themselves.

Traditional Leathercraft

Interactive leathercraft workshops for learners of all ages at festivals and events. Have a go at this traditional skill to make your own bookmark, bracelet, necklace or key fob. Personalise your craft with a choice of over 250 designs and 7 colours. All crafts are closely supervised by James who has been working creatively with leather for over 15 years.

GROW highly recommend Woodland Classroom as trainers. Lea and James delivered a training day for GROW-Wellbeing CIC staff and volunteers, incorporating a tailored mindfulness and bushcraft programme. Both trainers generously shared their knowledge and skills with us throughout the day, engaging each participant to reach a deeper level of understanding of the areas covered. They are extremely professional, bringing all equipment required to our site, and have been great communicators during planning and on the day. We have no hesitation in recommending Woodland Classroom as trainers in mindfulness and bushcraft!
