wild food & foraging workshop in north wales

Kickstart your foraging journey & walk the wild food trail.

Join our monthly workshops online, with James & Lea from Woodland Classroom

Enjoy finding, harvesting and cooking with wild food every month during our online workshops. Autumn is here and there is a wealth of food for free out there!

Foragers & Outdoor Leaders, James & Lea will be hosting this live webinar workshop showcasing a host of wild edible foods that are available in the hedgerows during September and throughout autumn. You will learn about edible plants you can find and cook tasty dishes with.

After the smash success of our online foraging workshops during lockdown we have launched this new monthly series of webinars which will take you through a year of wild food & cooking.

Each month you will learn about new edible plants as we move with the seasons and the wild food available around us. You will also get foraging tips from Special Guest Speakers from the world of wild food, bushcraft and outdoor cooking.

A ticket costs just £7. These events are selling quickly, so grab your place whilst you can 🙂 Everyone has loved these workshops so far and they’ve been really popular.

YOUR WORKSHOP INCLUDES:

* Seasonal Wild Food Plant Identification

* Foraging Tips

* Wild Medicine

* Recipe Ideas

* Special Guest Speaker: Craig Evans from Welsh Coastal Foraging

* Q&A Session

Learn at your own pace. Join just one workshop or join us every month, you decide. There’s no commitment from you to attend every month.

YOU can be part of the workshop too. We’re inviting all our online students to chime in with their foraging experiences during lockdown, recipe successes and failures, and any tips you have yourself to share with the class. We would love to hear from you. So, if you have an idea send us an email at hey@woodlandclassroom.com We might even ask you to showcase your wild food creation for the rest of the class as a guest speaker.

The workshop will last 1 hour and will be hosted via Zoom. Once you book into the workshop then you will receive an email from Zoom with details of how to access the webinar.

THIS MONTH’S SPECIAL GUEST

We’re very happy to be welcoming Craig Evans from Welsh Coastal Foraging to the workshop. Craig leads foraging walks along the coasts of West Wales finding ingredients to cook up a feast right there and then – proving there are rich culinary pickings on the beach, from mussels to plants and crabs.

Check out Craig’s popular YouTube channel right here.

HOW TO BOOK – VERY IMPORTANT!

The cost is £7, this is not per person though, only per slot. So feel free to cram as many family members around the screen as you can 🙂

Once you have your ticket, we will follow up with an email for you to register for the Zoom meeting, following which you will receive the Zoom meeting link and entry password. So, look out for that.

Please note, tickets are non-refundable.

Your Tutors: James & Lea Kendall

James is the Head Bushcraft Instructor at Woodland Classroom, having worked in environmental education & conservation for over 10 years. James’ approach to teaching  steers his students toward fostering a deeper connection with nature through understanding the landscape around us; “Bushcraft skills are an effective way to do this as we learn how to make use of natural materials and live lightly with the land, whilst also connecting with our own ancient past by seeing the land through the eyes of our ancestors.”

Lea is a qualified Counsellor and Mindfulness in a Woodland Setting practitioner. She is a firm believer in the power of nature to be therapeutic for everyone. Lea is an active forager, passionate about how we can use common plants for both food and medicine. She enjoys making her own tinctures and medicinal remedies for treating common ailments.
