wild food & foraging course in north wales

Gain confidence in finding, harvesting & cooking with wild fungi.

Join our workshop, walk the wild food trail and kickstart your foraging journey.

Bushcraft Tutors & Foragers, Dave & James will be hosting this live webinar workshop showcasing a selection of wild edible mushrooms that are common, identifiable and available in the hedgerow and woodland during Autumn. You will learn about fungi you can find and cook tasty dishes with.

The workshop is aimed at beginners to fungi foraging. You will learn about common fungi that can not be easily mistaken for hazardous species.

After the smash success of our monthly online foraging workshops during lockdown everyone has asked us to host a mushroom special, so we’re doing just that.

A ticket costs just £11. These wild food events are selling quickly, so grab your place whilst you can 🙂 Everyone has loved these workshops so far and they’ve been really popular.

YOUR WORKSHOP INCLUDES:

* Edible Fungi Identification

* Foraging Tips

* Recipe Ideas

* Poisonous Look-a-likes; what to avoid

* Q&A Session

YOU can be part of the workshop too. We’re inviting all our online students to chime in with their foraging experiences during lockdown with your recipe successes. Have you made a mouth-watering dish with wild fungi? Tell us about it in advance. Send us an email at hey@woodlandclassroom.com We might even ask you to showcase your wild fungi creation for the rest of the class as a guest speaker. You will also get the chance to put your questions to us during the open Q&A session at the end of the workshop.

The workshop will last one and a half hours and will be hosted via Zoom. Once you book into the workshop then you will receive an email from Zoom with details of how to access the webinar.

HOW TO BOOK

The cost is £11, this is not per person though, only per slot. So feel free to cram as many family members around the screen as you can 🙂

Once you have your ticket, we will follow up with an email for you to register for the Zoom meeting, following which you will receive the Zoom meeting link and entry password. So, look out for that.

If you cannot make the workshop on the night, we can send you a recording of it afterwards.

Please note, tickets are non-refundable.

edible fungi workshop - foraging & wild food

Your Tutors:  James Kendall & Dave Watson

Dave Watson has over 30 years of bushcraft experience. He is the lead tutor at Woodland Survival Crafts. The business was established in 1995 following a 10 year career in outdoor activity centres.

Dave’s passion for ancient survival skills, or ‘bushcraft’ as it has become known, stems from his teenage years when he spent much of his time wandering around Britain in semi-wild places trying to live off the land.

Dave views the subject of bushcraft as an exciting and inspiring tool suitable for everyone, to teach life skills, environmental education, and history as well as being a perfect basis in which to impart sound spiritual lessons.

James Kendall is the Head Bushcraft Instructor at Woodland Classroom, having worked in environmental education & conservation for over 10 years. James’ approach to teaching  steers his students toward fostering a deeper connection with nature through understanding the landscape around us; “Bushcraft skills are an effective way to do this as we learn how to make use of natural materials and live lightly with the land, whilst also connecting with our own ancient past by seeing the land through the eyes of our ancestors.”
