SUMMARY:Walking with Trees (June)
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row full_width=”stretch_row” el_class=”innerpage-rowgraphic”][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_column_text css=”” el_class=”inner-pagetitle”] \nNATURE I.D. MADE SIMPLE – FOR EVERYONE\n\nHave you ever paused on a walk and wondered\, “What tree is this?” Or spotted a curious flower\, unusual leaf\, or animal track and wished you had someone there to tell you more?\n\nWalking with Trees are free guided walks through beautiful woodland and parkland. Usually taking place on the second Tuesday of the month\, we visit a different country park or venue around the Wrexham area to discover beautiful wild places. This month’s walk takes place around the woodland at Stori Brymbo where we will get to explore Lodge Valley Country Park and also get a peek at the fascinating Fossil Forest project. When you book your place we will send you full details of where we are meeting.\n\nEach month we’ll take our time exploring not just the trees\, but all the wild wonders that catch our eye along the way. From wildflowers and edible plants to signs of wildlife and the changing seasons\, we’ll follow our curiosity and see where nature leads us.\n\nWhether you’re brand new to the natural world or already have a budding interest\, this is a relaxed\, welcoming way to learn more and connect with the landscape around you.\n\nLed by James “The Tree Guy” Kendall\, woodsman and outdoor educator\, you’ll gain simple\, practical skills for identifying what you see and deepen your appreciation of the hidden lives of plants\, animals\, and trees alike.\n\n\nThese events are completely FREE to attend\, but places are limited\, so booking is essential. Book your place by emailing hey@woodlandclassroom.com or clicking on the link on this page.\n\nCome and walk with us\, and discover just how much nature has to share when we slow down and look a little closer. Thanks to the Local Places For Nature” Wrexham project for funding these events.\n\n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=””] \n\nA relaxed & engaging walk through woodland & parkland\nLearn to identify a variety of common trees\, wild plants and flowers\nDiscover seasonal edible plants and traditional uses of the wild flora\nSpot signs of wildlife and explore how everything connects in the woodland web\nTime to ask questions\, share observations\, and enjoy nature at your own pace\n\n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″] [vc_column_text] \nEvent details\n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=”” el_class=”white-text”]Date: Tues 16th June 2026 \nTime: 10:00am – 12:00pm \nVenue: Stori Brymbo \nCost: Free[/vc_column_text]Book now [/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”14473″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row full_width=”stretch_row” el_class=”row-graphic-white” css=”.vc_custom_1573054760131{background-image: url(https://woodlandclassroom.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/background-texture.jpg?id=12328) !important;background-position: center !important;background-repeat: no-repeat !important;background-size: cover !important;}”][vc_column][vc_row_inner content_placement=”middle”][vc_column_inner width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”33235″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” css=”” el_class=”wd-circle-image”][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”2/3″][vc_column_text css=””] \nFREE BUS FROM WREXHAM TOWN!\n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=””]A free shuttle service will leave from Ty Pawb\, Wrexham Town Centre at 9.30am\, taking you straight to the event and bringing you back afterwards. James’ approach to teaching steers students toward fostering a deeper connection with nature through understanding the landscape around us; “Bushcraft skills are an effective way to do this as we learn how to make use of natural materials and live lightly with the land\, whilst also connecting with our own ancient past by seeing the land through the eyes of our ancestors.” \nIn 2017 James received the Bushcraft Competency Certificate awarded through the Institute for Outdoor Learning after 2 years of teaching experience and practical study. He is also a member of the IOL Bushcraft Professional Practise Group.
