SUMMARY:Walking with Trees (Sept)
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row full_width=”stretch_row” el_class=”innerpage-rowgraphic”][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_column_text css=”” el_class=”inner-pagetitle”] \nNATURE I.D. MADE SIMPLE – FOR EVERYONE\n\nHave you ever paused on a walk and wondered\, “What tree is this?” Or spotted a curious flower\, unusual leaf\, or animal track and wished you had someone there to tell you more?\n\nWalking with Trees are free guided walks through beautiful woodland and parkland. Usually taking place on the second Wednesday of the month\, we visit a different country park or venue around the Wrexham area to discover beautiful wild places. This month’s walk starts from the Felin Puleston Outdoor Centre on the edge of the National Trust’s Erddig estate. We will explore the footpath network on the hunt for trees young and old. When you book your place we will send you full details of where we are meeting.\n\nEach month we’ll take our time exploring not just the trees\, but all the wild wonders that catch our eye along the way. From wildflowers and edible plants to signs of wildlife and the changing seasons\, we’ll follow our curiosity and see where nature leads us.\n\nWhether you’re brand new to the natural world or already have a budding interest\, this is a relaxed\, welcoming way to learn more and connect with the landscape around you.\n\nLed by James “The Tree Guy” Kendall\, woodsman and outdoor educator\, you’ll gain simple\, practical skills for identifying what you see and deepen your appreciation of the hidden lives of plants\, animals\, and trees alike.\n\n\nThese events are completely FREE to attend\, but places are limited\, so booking is essential. Book your place by emailing hey@woodlandclassroom.com or clicking on the link on this page.\n\nCome and walk with us\, and discover just how much nature has to share when we slow down and look a little closer. Thanks to the Local Places For Nature” Wrexham project for funding these events.\n\n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=””] \n\nA relaxed & engaging walk through woodland & parkland\nLearn to identify a variety of common trees\, wild plants and flowers\nDiscover seasonal edible plants and traditional uses of the wild flora\nSpot signs of wildlife and explore how everything connects in the woodland web\nTime to ask questions\, share observations\, and enjoy nature at your own pace\n\n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″] [vc_column_text] \nEvent details\n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=”” el_class=”white-text”]Date: Wed 16th September 2026 \nTime: 10:00am – 12:00pm \nVenue: Felin Puleston Outdoor Centre\, Erddig \nCost: Free[/vc_column_text]Book now [/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”14473″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row full_width=”stretch_row” el_class=”row-graphic-white” css=”.vc_custom_1573054760131{background-image: url(https://woodlandclassroom.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/background-texture.jpg?id=12328) !important;background-position: center !important;background-repeat: no-repeat !important;background-size: cover !important;}”][vc_column][vc_row_inner content_placement=”middle”][vc_column_inner width=”2/3″][vc_column_text] \nYour Tutor: James Kendall\n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]James is the Head Bushcraft Instructor at Woodland Classroom\, having worked in outdoor education & conservation for over 10 years. SUMMARY:Wildcraft: Outdoor Adventure for Video Gamers
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row full_width=”stretch_row” el_class=”innerpage-rowgraphic”][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_column_text el_class=”inner-pagetitle”] \nThe ultimate video game inspired activity day for May half term. In games like Minecraft and Fortnite\, players have to survive in a hostile environment; build their own house\, hunt for their food\, search for resources and fend off wandering monsters. Sure\, your child can survive in the ‘wilderness’ on the computer screen\, but can they do it out in the real woods? \nIn our unique outdoor game kids have to work together\, using what they know from video games\, to learn outdoor survival skills and earn points along the way. Playing Wildcraft Adventure™ is a fantastic way to get your video game obsessed child out into nature. \nJust like in their favourite console games\, kids will be set a number of challenges throughout the day\, and all the while be building their dens before ‘night’ falls and the monsters wake up. Players will light their own campfire\, ‘mine’ for resources and use sharp axes; all closely supervised by experienced Forest School leaders. There’ll be plenty of time to get creative with play and imagination – of course. This will be a full day of video game inspired activities for kids aged 6-12 years. \n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Advance booking is essential – these events are always REALLY popular. Tickets are £40 per child.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″] [vc_column_text] \nEvent details\n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text el_class=”white-text”]Date: May 27\, 2020 \nTime: 10:00 am – 4:00 pm \nVenue: Erddig Hall \nCost: £40[/vc_column_text]Book now [/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_video link=”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Vd2NOPsYvE” el_width=”80″ align=”center”][/vc_column][vc_column][vc_column_text]Parents don’t usually stay with their children during this event – but there’s plenty to see at Erddig Hall & Gardens if you want to make a day of it. Our Forest School activity days are all supervised by trained and experienced staff… that’s us. If your child has special needs that you feel would require a parent or guardian to stay with them for the day though\, we would advise getting in touch with us in advance of making a booking and we’ll see what we can arrange.
