SUMMARY:Wild Food\, Foraging & Wilderness Cookery (Autumn)
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row full_width=”stretch_row” el_class=”innerpage-rowgraphic”][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_column_text el_class=”inner-pagetitle”] \nOur One Day Autumn Foraging Experience\n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=””]Autumn in the woods is the perfect time for foraging wild foods. Join James & Lea\, your foraging guides\, as we explore the world of edible plants\, berries and fungi. “Food tastes better outdoors” is a common phrase but it tastes even better when you have gathered and prepared it yourself. \nThe secret world of edible wild plants will be opened up to you as we search for mushrooms\, roots\, berries & nuts at this plentiful time of year. To the forager\, our woodlands and hedgerows are full of tasty and filling wild food opportunities. \nThis one day course looks at some of the best and tastiest ways to enjoy wild food. From our basecamp we will be exploring the forest and hedges in search of “food for free.” \nSet at the head of the Vale of Clwyd\, Coed Talwrn is a privately owned woodland reserve rarely open to the public. This rich and varied landscape weaves together mixed woodland\, flowing waterways\, open meadow and scrubland\, creating a space that feels both wild and deeply cared for. \nFor over a decade the land has been gently managed using rewilding techniques\, allowing nature to lead the way. As a result\, biodiversity has flourished; plants\, fungi and wildlife now thrive across the site\, bringing a real sense of life and abundance to every corner. We are delighted to have been granted special access to this remarkable place for our courses. \n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text] \n\nGain confidence in identifying a variety of edible plants & fungi\nLearn how to prepare fish for campfire cooking\nUnderstand the four main cooking areas of the campfire\nCreate sustaining meals using wild ingredients\nConfidently identify\, prepare and consume a wide variety of wild foods\nBake fresh bread in a dutch oven\nLearn how to forage with a sustainable approach to the habitat\nEnjoy a range of wild foods freshly prepared by you and the tutors at basecamp\n\n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″] [vc_column_text] \nEvent details\n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=”” el_class=”white-text”]Date: Sat 19th Sept 2026 \nTime: 9:30 am – 4:30 pm \nVenue: Coed Talwrn\, Ruthin \nCost: £75[/vc_column_text]Book now [/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”14462″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row full_width=”stretch_row” el_class=”row-graphic-white” css=”.vc_custom_1573054760131{background-image: url(https://woodlandclassroom.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/background-texture.jpg?id=12328) !important;background-position: center !important;background-repeat: no-repeat !important;background-size: cover !important;}”][vc_column][vc_row_inner content_placement=”middle”][vc_column_inner width=”2/3″][vc_column_text] \nYour Tutors: James & Lea Kendall\n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]James is the Head Bushcraft Instructor at Woodland Classroom\, having worked in environmental education & conservation for over 10 years. She is a firm believer in the power of nature to be therapeutic for everyone. Lea is an active forager\, passionate about how we can use common plants for both food and medicine.
