The woodland gives them space to be themselves and take part in the activities that they choose. There is a therapeutic quality about the natural setting of a Woodland Party that no indoor soft-play can give a child. There is even space to take time-out whenever needed, in one of our tree hammocks.
Our ASD Friendly parties combine the ‘child-led play’ approach of Forest School with a range of birthday themed activities which will ensure that children will have a magical woodland experience that they’ll never forget.
All the autistic children we have had on our Forest School sessions have been vastly different, with varying needs, preferences and social interactions. Our staff will speak with you in advance of the party to understand what approach and activities would best work on the day for your child.
These specialist parties are hosted by Kay Ribbons-Steen. Kay has co-hosted many of our woodland activity days and is an experienced Forest School Leader in her own right. She’s also an Ambassador for the Austistic Society, giving talks to groups to raise awareness of ASD.

Our staff are trained and experienced at tutoring children through such activities and will cater each activity to suit the child’s age and experience as appropriate. ASD Friendly parties are best suited to children aged 6 – 12 years. Our woodlands offer plenty of space for kids to explore and play on their own terms. We pride our Forest School in being a supportive and encouraging environment for your child to unleash their wild side.
We do ask that for parents/guardians whose children require additional support at school, that they stay with their children during the party.
What WE Bring to the Party
Our ASD Friendly Party includes popcorn and a choice of either marshmallows or toffee apple slices (vegan friendly option) to cook up over the campfire.
As much tea and coffee as you can drink from our campfire kettle. Fruit squash for kids. On cold days hot chocolate is available for kids also.
All parties include our experienced Outdoor Activity Leader(s), crackling campfire circle, free parking and access to proper toilets. In case of wet weather, each of our venues, also have an indoor space that can be used for hosting the party food after the woodland activities are finished.
We will send you printable templates for personalised party invitations and also a Welcome Pack to send out to parents so they have everything they need to know before the big day.
What YOU Bring to the Party
We don’t provide the birthday cake or party food, so if you want to include this, please bring it with you. For the party food you can bring packed lunch bags, a cold buffet or you can cook something up over our campfire.
