SUMMARY:Walking with Trees (July)
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row full_width=”stretch_row” el_class=”innerpage-rowgraphic”][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_column_text css=”” el_class=”inner-pagetitle”] \nNATURE I.D. MADE SIMPLE – FOR EVERYONE\n\nHave you ever paused on a walk and wondered\, “What tree is this?” Or spotted a curious flower\, unusual leaf\, or animal track and wished you had someone there to tell you more?\n\nWalking with Trees are free guided walks through beautiful woodland and parkland. Usually taking place on the second Tuesday of the month\, we visit a different country park or venue around the Wrexham area to discover beautiful wild places. This month’s walk takes place around the grounds of Erlas Walled Garden where we will get to explore the native trees and orchard as well as get a look at the working vegetable garden themselves. It’s a beautiful hidden gem. When you book your place we will send you full details of where we are meeting.\n\nEach month we’ll take our time exploring not just the trees\, but all the wild wonders that catch our eye along the way. From wildflowers and edible plants to signs of wildlife and the changing seasons\, we’ll follow our curiosity and see where nature leads us.\n\nWhether you’re brand new to the natural world or already have a budding interest\, this is a relaxed\, welcoming way to learn more and connect with the landscape around you.\n\nLed by James “The Tree Guy” Kendall\, woodsman and outdoor educator\, you’ll gain simple\, practical skills for identifying what you see and deepen your appreciation of the hidden lives of plants\, animals\, and trees alike.\n\n\nThese events are completely FREE to attend\, but places are limited\, so booking is essential. Book your place by emailing hey@woodlandclassroom.com or clicking on the link on this page.\n\nCome and walk with us\, and discover just how much nature has to share when we slow down and look a little closer. Thanks to the Local Places For Nature” Wrexham project for funding these events.\n\n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=””] \n\nA relaxed & engaging walk through woodland & parkland\nLearn to identify a variety of common trees\, wild plants and flowers\nDiscover seasonal edible plants and traditional uses of the wild flora\nSpot signs of wildlife and explore how everything connects in the woodland web\nTime to ask questions\, share observations\, and enjoy nature at your own pace\n\n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″] [vc_column_text] \nEvent details\n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=”” el_class=”white-text”]Date: Tues 14th July 2026 \nTime: 10:00am – 12:00pm \nVenue: Erlas Walled Garden \nCost: Free[/vc_column_text]Book now [/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”14473″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row full_width=”stretch_row” el_class=”row-graphic-white” css=”.vc_custom_1573054760131{background-image: url(https://woodlandclassroom.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/background-texture.jpg?id=12328) !important;background-position: center !important;background-repeat: no-repeat !important;background-size: cover !important;}”][vc_column][vc_row_inner content_placement=”middle”][vc_column_inner width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”33235″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” css=”” el_class=”wd-circle-image”][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”2/3″][vc_column_text css=””] \nFREE BUS FROM WREXHAM TOWN!\n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=””]A free shuttle service will leave from Ty Pawb\, Wrexham Town Centre at 9.30am\, taking you straight to the event and bringing you back afterwards. SUMMARY:Wild Food\, Foraging & Wilderness Cookery (Autumn)
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row full_width=”stretch_row” el_class=”innerpage-rowgraphic”][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_column_text el_class=”inner-pagetitle”] \nOur One Day Autumn Foraging Experience\n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=””]Autumn in the woods is the perfect time for foraging wild foods. Join James & Lea\, your foraging guides\, as we explore the world of edible plants\, berries and fungi. “Food tastes better outdoors” is a common phrase but it tastes even better when you have gathered and prepared it yourself. \nThe secret world of edible wild plants will be opened up to you as we search for mushrooms\, roots\, berries & nuts at this plentiful time of year. To the forager\, our woodlands and hedgerows are full of tasty and filling wild food opportunities. \nThis one day course looks at some of the best and tastiest ways to enjoy wild food. From our basecamp we will be exploring the forest and hedges in search of “food for free.” \nSet at the head of the Vale of Clwyd\, Coed Talwrn is a privately owned woodland reserve rarely open to the public. This rich and varied landscape weaves together mixed woodland\, flowing waterways\, open meadow and scrubland\, creating a space that feels both wild and deeply cared for. \nFor over a decade the land has been gently managed using rewilding techniques\, allowing nature to lead the way. As a result\, biodiversity has flourished; plants\, fungi and wildlife now thrive across the site\, bringing a real sense of life and abundance to every corner. We are delighted to have been granted special access to this remarkable place for our courses. \n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text] \n\nGain confidence in identifying a variety of edible plants & fungi\nLearn how to prepare fish for campfire cooking\nUnderstand the four main cooking areas of the campfire\nCreate sustaining meals using wild ingredients\nConfidently identify\, prepare and consume a wide variety of wild foods\nBake fresh bread in a dutch oven\nLearn how to forage with a sustainable approach to the habitat\nEnjoy a range of wild foods freshly prepared by you and the tutors at basecamp\n\n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″] [vc_column_text] \nEvent details\n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=”” el_class=”white-text”]Date: Sat 19th Sept 2026 \nTime: 9:30 am – 4:30 pm \nVenue: Coed Talwrn\, Ruthin \nCost: £75[/vc_column_text]Book now [/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”14462″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row full_width=”stretch_row” el_class=”row-graphic-white” css=”.vc_custom_1573054760131{background-image: url(https://woodlandclassroom.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/background-texture.jpg?id=12328) !important;background-position: center !important;background-repeat: no-repeat !important;background-size: cover !important;}”][vc_column][vc_row_inner content_placement=”middle”][vc_column_inner width=”2/3″][vc_column_text] \nYour Tutors: James & Lea Kendall\n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]James is the Head Bushcraft Instructor at Woodland Classroom\, having worked in environmental education & conservation for over 10 years.
\n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text] \n\nGain confidence in identifying a variety of edible plants & fungi\nLearn how to prepare fish for campfire cooking\nUnderstand the four main cooking areas of the campfire\nCreate sustaining meals using wild ingredients\nConfidently identify\, prepare and consume a wide variety of wild foods\nBake fresh bread in a dutch oven\nLearn how to forage with a sustainable approach to the habitat\nEnjoy a range of wild foods freshly prepared by you and the tutors at basecamp\n\n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″] [vc_column_text] \nEvent details\n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=”” el_class=”white-text”]Date: Sun 20th Sept 2026 \nTime: 9:30 am – 4:30 pm \nVenue: Coed Talwrn\, Ruthin \nCost: £75[/vc_column_text]Book now [/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”14462″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row full_width=”stretch_row” el_class=”row-graphic-white” css=”.vc_custom_1573054760131{background-image: url(https://woodlandclassroom.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/background-texture.jpg?id=12328) !important;background-position: center !important;background-repeat: no-repeat !important;background-size: cover !important;}”][vc_column][vc_row_inner content_placement=”middle”][vc_column_inner width=”2/3″][vc_column_text] \nYour Tutors: James & Lea Kendall\n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]James is the Head Bushcraft Instructor at Woodland Classroom\, having worked in environmental education & conservation for over 10 years.
