MADE SIMPLE – FOR EVERYONE\n\nHave you ever paused on a walk and wondered\, “What tree is this?” Or spotted a curious flower\, unusual leaf\, or animal track and wished you had someone there to tell you more?\n\nWalking with Trees are free guided walks through beautiful woodland and parkland. Usually taking place on the second Wednesday of the month\, we visit a different country park or venue around the Wrexham area to discover beautiful wild places. This month’s walk starts from the Felin Puleston Outdoor Centre on the edge of the National Trust’s Erddig estate. We will explore the footpath network on the hunt for trees young and old. When you book your place we will send you full details of where we are meeting.\n\nEach month we’ll take our time exploring not just the trees\, but all the wild wonders that catch our eye along the way. From wildflowers and edible plants to signs of wildlife and the changing seasons\, we’ll follow our curiosity and see where nature leads us.\n\nWhether you’re brand new to the natural world or already have a budding interest\, this is a relaxed\, welcoming way to learn more and connect with the landscape around you.\n\nLed by James “The Tree Guy” Kendall\, woodsman and outdoor educator\, you’ll gain simple\, practical skills for identifying what you see and deepen your appreciation of the hidden lives of plants\, animals\, and trees alike.\n\n\nThese events are completely FREE to attend\, but places are limited\, so booking is essential. Join James & Lea\, your foraging guides\, as we explore the world of edible plants\, berries and fungi. “Food tastes better outdoors” is a common phrase but it tastes even better when you have gathered and prepared it yourself. \nThe secret world of edible wild plants will be opened up to you as we search for mushrooms\, roots\, berries & nuts at this plentiful time of year. To the forager\, our woodlands and hedgerows are full of tasty and filling wild food opportunities. \nThis one day course looks at some of the best and tastiest ways to enjoy wild food. From our basecamp we will be exploring the forest and hedges in search of “food for free.” \nSet at the head of the Vale of Clwyd\, Coed Talwrn is a privately owned woodland reserve rarely open to the public. This rich and varied landscape weaves together mixed woodland\, flowing waterways\, open meadow and scrubland\, creating a space that feels both wild and deeply cared for. \nFor over a decade the land has been gently managed using rewilding techniques\, allowing nature to lead the way. As a result\, biodiversity has flourished; plants\, fungi and wildlife now thrive across the site\, bringing a real sense of life and abundance to every corner. It is suitable for a wide range of people working or volunteering in formal or non-formal settings such as early years\, schools\, colleges\, outdoor centres\, education centres\, wildlife trusts\, national parks\, youth and voluntary organisations. Wherever you are on your journey into bushcraft we aim to bring your confidence and skillset forward to the next level. \nThis 2 day course is open to all with an interest in passing bushcraft skills and knowledge on to others. The course covers 5 key bushcraft skill units; edged tools – knives & saws\, fire\, water\, tarp shelters & knots and campfire cooking. \nOur weekend long course is all set against the backdrop of mixed woodlands\, wetlands and open meadows of Park In The Past\, with 120 acres of wild space to explore.
