June 2 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm

£55
weeds for wellbeing at hawarden estate with woodland classroom

An introduction to foraging for wild plants in spring that can be used in the treatment of common ailments. So many plants that are considered “weeds” can actually be harvested to create effective home remedies. You’ll learn to identify a range of plants and come away with your own honey elixir and immune boosting spring tonic and hedgerow syrups. We will also make our own fresh, herbal teas and everyone can take away foraged plants to dry at home.

This course will also include some Mindfulness in the Woods activities, as we give you a range of practical techniques to help you bring Mindfulness in to your life using the power of nature. Through identifying, gathering and using these special plants we will be exploring our deeper connection with nature whilst empowering ourselves with new skills to heal, nurture and enhance our own wellbeing, mind, body, spirit.

This course is aimed at beginners to plant-based medicine and Mindfulness in nature. No prior knowledge or experience required. All this will take place in the grounds of the Harwarden Estate against the backdrop of the woodlands, orchards and fields.

This session is suitable for anyone over the age of 18. The class runs for 5 hours, from 10am until 3pm and costs £55 per person. This price includes all materials for making your natural medicines including; alcohol (vodka), honey, coloured elixir jars and coloured tincture jars. Refreshments are also provided but do bring your own packed lunch or heat something up on our campfire.

“Gathering herbs for free is the beginning of a valuable and theraputic relationship with the wild” Julie Bruton-Seal & Matthew Seal, authors of Hedgerow Medicine.

Take a look at Lea’s recent video above where she explores making natural remedies from everyday “weeds”.
